Email from my UK son to set him up a Thai email address?

Dear forum members,

Please bare with me if I ramble on but I have received the following email from my son in the UK - I reside in Pattaya:

"Can you set me up an email address from Thailand, using a Thai Internet company, so that emails get sent with a Thai script.
The username needs to be a mix of my name and something about Thailand and the year 2014, ...eg:
johnfawcett(Thailand2014)@......etc...... Or
Johnefawcett2014(Thailand)@ Or
Jfawett(2014Thailand)
Then can you send me the website address, account name and the password you set up to this email address."
Sorry to say but at 67yrs young I have not the faintest idea what he is asking or talking about. At this point (me rambling) I should perhaps say that we get on like "chalk & cheese" and rarely exchange more than a social greeting when we meet in the UK.
I can understand any replies saying "ask him exactly what he wants" but that is not likely to exact a too friendly response. I want to help my son without (if possible) having to enquire further into his request.
I was minded to ask him what all this is about but as he is a solicitor in Westminster I have NO doubt it is something above board - why would I say that, well some years ago when I was living in the UK I mentioned to him my intention to do something "not quite kosher", he stopped me in mid-sentence and said (I remember it to the word) "I will not compromise my legal integrity for you or anyone - continue this conversation and we will never speak again!!" OK so now I understand where he comes from.
Rambling or scene setting over (well almost) how can I help my son? Any advice/comments really need to be in the most simplistic of terms for me to understand. I have two sons and this is the eldest in his 40's. My youngest son from my 30yrs marriage dis-owned me when I divorced and moved to Thailand - I do not want to lose my eldest son.
Anyway, as I live on the "Darkside" I am more than happy to meet anyone locally who can help - please bring your partner and I (we, my Thai wife) will be happy to take visitors for a meal or whatever and I am quite content to pay for any advice which can help son achieve his request.
I have now read the above and it does ramble on so sorry about that but I feel his request is for a genuine reason albeit I do not know what that is.
Many thanks to everyone who replies be their comments be good, bad or indifferent.

Can't see what the problem is, why a Thai based email supplier? He could write emails on Gmail, etc by just switching the computer language settings...

หรทยสำ.... I wrote out "simple", not sure what is says in Thai! wink.png

Just a case of making a user name with what ever name is available ..... in gmail, hot mail etc...

There is nothing you can do that he can't do from UK. He can pick himself a Thai webmaster provider and sign up for a free email. No problem.

I would suggest you reply to your son and say, "I just have my email through _________ , because it was easy. I did ask some people here but I didn't understand their answer."

And follow up with, "If you really need one I can try to find someone who has one already and ask them for details on how they got it."

I would go with the reality that this is all really over your head and let it be. Try, if he pushes it, to get the info for him but don't be the one actually creating the account. That step just opens you up to being an unwitting accomplice.

There's only one reason for doing so. He wants that people believe that he's in Thailand. Not really kosher....

Not so easy. Even if you use an address in ".th", if you send your mail from Manchester, the recipient can see it was sent from UK, the information is in the message source.

Unless you use a VPN with a Thai source address.

Interesting that the son is fluent enough in Thai to contemplate writing e-mails in the language. whistling.gif

I too smell a scam.
