"so where will he go, Barca, Real or maybe Bayern?"

He has very recently agreed terms on a new five-year deal which will run until 2019 - so he ain't going no where, and he clearly doesn't want to go anywhere else!

So Aguero doesn't have an agent then?

Please go contemplate your navel elsewhere. What a load of boring tripe.coffee1.gif

I’ve been having trouble all morning trying to understand why City with equal points but better goal difference (-1) to CSKA’s and Roma’s (-4) are being shown bottom the group and not 2nd in the group.

Goal difference only comes into it AFTER head to head record. The reason we are bottom is CSK have a better head to head against us, as do Roma who drew 1-1 at our gaff. Roma are above CSK as they have a better head to head against them.

Watching City play without Aguero is like watching porn without sound.

Quite JD, hopelessly reliant on Aguero. Pellegrini must be wrapping him up in cotton wool between games. I don't want to sound too harsh but if you took City Aguero out of the equation i think Bayern might well have won comfortably. Its all about him. i also don't think your manager seems to have many answers to the unanswered questions. Just a case of Aguero getting him out of the proverbial.

I agree....what a strange decision to bring on Zabaleta who almost got himself sent off before the winning goal was scored.

City need an overhaul incredibly in my opinion given the number of players who have passed through in recent times.

My post may be 'boring tripe' to you but there are others who may understand the power of agents in football.

New contracts do not mean an extended stay at a club, this was reported by the BBC less than a year ago.

Luis Suarez signs new long-term Liverpool deal

Luis Suarez has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Liverpool.

The striker, 26, joined the Reds in January 2011 and has scored 17 goals in 11 Premier League starts this season.....

So it may be that Aguero has or will sign a new, long-term contract, but that does not guarantee he will be playing for City for the whole period of it. Agents rule football, do not forget that.

As I understand it, Aguero will be sold to Derby County next week. Happy ?

I am afraid that Aguero would not fit the Derby 'Business Model', some clubs buy players from around the world for extortionate fees and pay them fortunes in wages. The Derby model is based on findling young players from GB and Ireland, developing them through the academy system and then helping them progress through to the first team.

Seems to be working O.K. at the moment.

Why was that "a strange decision to bring on Zabaleta"? Sagna was likely picked to start ahead of Zaba to take care of Ribery, but after the sending off, the free kick and the in-off-shoulder goals apart, Bayern were retaining possession but not real posing a forward threat, it made perfect sense to bring on the better forward thinking fullback Zaba to chase a goal.

I would agree with you that Zaba "almost got himself sent off before the winning goal was scored".

On that second challenge by Zaba he got all ball. He is a fierce competitor and goes in hard. He obviously pays attention to Javier Mascherano's style of play when on international duty. I hope he never changes !

Since the Blue world was turned upside down by Sheikh Mansours 2008 takeover, fans have been used to them chalking up big wins away from home.

The four sides yet to feel the weight of the new, improved City are Liverpool, Stoke...and their next two opponents Southampton and Sunderland.Indeed, Citys league record against the Premier Leagues red-and-white striped teams is nothing short of abysmal.Curiously, the last time they recorded an away league win against a team in those colours was on August 31, 2008, when they racked up a 3-0 win at Sunderland and 24 hours later became the wealthiest club in the world.Since then, they have travelled to Stoke, Southampton and Sunderland 13 times in the league, and have drawn seven, lost six and won none.

The wealthiest club in the world? I know you have been a massive club for years and even had the biggest floodlights in the football league but that is pushing it mate.

Anyway good point about your dislike of red stripes although it was the drink to be seen with in the shabeens of moss side :-)

Took from M.E.N., and if you're a mancunian - are you? - you'll know what a quality paper that is (not). I think they probably meant wealthiest owner. Happy now?

Salford actually Ordsall.

The evening news is not a bad paper at all.

Very happy thanks the sun is shining and it is a footie day and I am off on the piss later :-)

That ref was a complete Muppet. I really hope justice prevails and they rescind Aguero's yellow.

Happy with the result and considering we were away to the 2nd place team, I'm overall happy with the performance. Don't think many teams will beat Southampton 3-0 at their gaff and with 10 men

Should Kompany be unavailable for Wednesday's trip to Sunderland, Pellegrini will have to select a pairing from Martin Demichelis, Dedryck Boyata or Bacary Sagna. The Chilean said: "We don't have both but we have Martin Demichelis and Dedryck Boyata, who is working very well, and Bacary Sagna can also play centre-back.

No mention of Nastasic, who is obviously currently completely out of favour and waiting at home with bags packed waiting his January departure. Sad. A waste.

As one yaya's critics, good to see him coming back in to some form the past 2 games. Definitely his best game of the season.

Clichy also is in a run of decent form and did well for the goal.

Aguero was unplayable at times today though there are clearly players he doesn't like to pass to: Milner being one of them.

Got to keep Frankie as long as possible...he contributes and he's looking very fit and able.

Said to the wife when we went down to 10 that at least we had taken the softies off (jovetic and nasri) for the battlers (Milner and Frankie)

Excellent result, looking more like it with only Vinnys injury and mangalas sending off the bad points.

Again not able to see the match. Sounds like a very good victory and happy to hear goals coming from players other than Aguero.

Hopefully I'll have DirectTV within a month and that'll solve my viewing problem.

I must say BB it's not something I've noticed. Be interested to hear if jack or jelly have seen that. Aguero is a typical striker and in the main only has eyes for goal although today he did two fantastic assists. I'll be keeping an eye out for that in future.

I thought we played quite well yesterday.

The ref (and his assistants) were appalling. I dont think you can appeal yellow cards, so Aguero has unfairly got an unwarranted yellow against his name.

It was bad enough to miss the penalty, but how can you book him??? In order to book him, the ref has to be sure he has seen simulation. Therefore he is either making it up in his own mind or else he is hallucinating. He should be given a holiday.

Kompanys injury is a worry. Looks like its his hammy again, which means he will probably out through Christmas. Please spare us Boyata!!!

My disappointment continues to be Navas. What is his role? I thought the idea was to have him as an outlet on the wing. Play all the nice intricate football inside and use him on the wing alternating between guile and thrust. He just doesnt seem to be able to take on his man!! OK, he occasionally puts in a good ball but for me he doesnt do half of what he should be doing. I think we should try and get the kid Aarons from Newcastle.

I hope the goal doesnt go to Clichys head. I dont want to be seeing Kolarov-esque shots from him all game. He cant do it. I already saw one 30 yarder yesterday flying high into the crowd. I think the fact he hit the post last week, he thinks he is Roberto Carlos reincarnatedlaugh.png

But the season is not yet half over. We are only 6 points behind, without playing with any real consistency. Still in with a shout of getting to the knock out stages of CL. Its not a bad position to be in.thumbsup.gif

Comprehensive win by towering midfield performances.

Hope that Southampton are sufficiently shattered in self-belief to make Wednesday a good night to be taking them on. Arsenal v Southampton.

[Down-to-earth reality check. Arsenal have not beaten a top half Premier League team (in the Prem) yet this season. Speaks volumes - used to be that we could not handle just the top 4].

Yes. Over the years I've brainwashed her and now she watches all the games and has been home and away (a 2v1 defeat away to Port Vale on a bitterly cold day our way down to the 3rd tier).
