Internet is slower at night (than before)

In first I thought it was because of weekend, now it is monday but I still get lower speed with my 35 (40) mbit True cable.

When I do traceroute, I get unusual higher pings in Cat route.

TOT also have higher ping than in the past.

12th hop is Cat's US router. Normally ping to USA west coast is around 200-210 ms. However, cat Thailand router (10th hop) shows 90+ ms which is abnormal.

I'm thinking they have problem in other routers, so now they are redirecting all internet into one box.

Moreover, youtube became slower. True has 60gbit peering to Google and Cat has 30Gbit peering, so youtube can't be slow unless they have problem in routers within Thailand. What a joke right? They remove some domestic routers for "Taking dust off" and how long will it take? Who knows?

While I don't have you technical expertise - I can anecdotally confirm that I have experienced a notable slowdown in my internet over the last month or two at night - when downloading a video being especially slow.

My TOT Wiinet slowed to a walk late yesterday and still hasn't recovered ....

That happend to me on Monday night so I called the local guys in Khampaeng Phet who didn't answer, then I called the TOT call centre about 10am and told them my problem. They told me that they would call KPP and I managed to get through to KPP about 11 and told them as well.

I even got a callback from ToT central before lunch and my system was almost back to normal by the early afternoon.

I have replaced the ToT modem, the lan cables, cleared the cache etc on my computer and I even did a system restore to a week earlier as well.

I really have no idea what the problem is but the combination of what I did seemed to work.

Have rung TOT call centre twice but as is customary they are very slow to address problems when reported. Can't even load the speedtest site to do a test!!!

I yearn for the day when I have an option for an IP other than TOT.

I made up an excel sheet this year logging how many and what problems they were and what was done (if known) to fix them.

It helps when you call them and say on xx xx xxxx I reported a problem, what are you doing about it?

My worst problem here is lightning. It has taken out the tower head 3 times in 3 years, usually after hours on a Friday so nobody looks at it until Monday afternoon earliest. The team comes out, finds the head fried and reports it back. No spares are kept in Khampaeng Phet so they have to be shipped from BKK and with a bit of luck the site is back up late Wednesday. The lightning conductor on the tower is too short so instead of going down the copper bar to ground the lightning hits the head, fries it, and goes to ground that way.

My wiinet is all over the place like a mad person's s..t!!

One minute the TOT speedtest tells me I am getting 10 down and 0.5 up then 2 minutes later I can't even run the speed test!!!

Yes, mine back to normal this morning but this is how yesterday started. Hopefully it is now sorted!
