ll2
Hey guys, due to work, no chance to see Marc Marquez but if any of you live close by, he is at Alpinestars shop at this moment at A Square Sukhumvit 26. You can go and see and even get a signature! Very busy month this month for me so cannot even leave the office for 30 minutes:( even if he is only 10 km away:( Well, next time!

dave_boo
The 2300 news said he returned to Spain already. I watched it on the off chance I'd see myself...alas I still have not made it on tv.

BKKBike09
For those of us who remember the days when most bikes came from bits assembled round the back of the National Stadium and it was nigh on impossible to get any decent gear here, it's frankly amazing that we now have outlets like this in Thailand. Whatever next. Big bikes allowed on the expressway
SumetCycle
Had a nice time there. I wanted to get my AGV helmet signed, but he is only allowed to sign Shoei. Had to buy an Alpine Stars t-shirt instead.

bramds
Yeah, what an idea to do this on a Monday afternoon. Let's make sure that most of the people interested can't make it. Evenings or weekends would be more interesting.

Well in their defense he was only here as part of his job as a Honda sponsored rider since this past weekend he raced in Sepang Malaysia he was close & probably this was not his only Honda stop He now has to get to Valencia Spain for the seasons final race on the 7th When they hop continents between races it must be rough to recover. If the season was over it could have been more leisurely
Popular Post BKKBike09
Having been to the store out of curiosity this weekend it will be interesting to see if the shop is still in business this time next year. The place is huge and the rent there must be pretty high. They'll need to sell a LOT of gear to make the rent / staff / utilities overheads each month. That location gets zero foot traffic and in any case the market for expensive motorcycle gear is tiny. I went Sunday afternoon around 3pm and there were five other customers - a Thai dude and his girlfriend looking at gloves, and three Thai guys checking out racing suits. The staff were friendly but the problem with any single-brand outlet is just that: it's only got one brand to choose from. I'd much rather browse a variety of brands. Does anyone know if the store is owned by Astars and so is really more of a product showroom for them? The high point of the trip for me was being stopped on Rama IV on the way over. Since there's often a motley crew of cops lurking there on the weekend I always drive on the left etc. Of course I get stopped anyway. License / reg / tax all in order so I asked why I was being stopped. Cop says "Thai police have the right to stop you". I say: "Fine. But I can't ask you why I'm being pulled over?" etc etc. I explain that I am tired of being stopped at 'unofficial' checkpoints and squeezed for money. Cop says "There are good police and bad police. Lots of corruption in Thailand". I decided to mention Koh Tao and next thing I know the cop is telling me that for sure the two Burmese didn't do it and that there are influential people on Koh Tao. Gotta love Thailand ...
