Extend 'B' visa after work permit

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Times are getting harder in this country to stay here, so I think we should help each other.

My Work Permit finishes this month and I would like to know if it's possible to extend my non immigrant B visa so I can stay for a little longer and sort out a marriage visa or something? I have heard that if I leave with a re-entry permit a day before my visa runs out and come back in I will get 3 months. Does anyone know if this is true?

Any help is much appreciated

Regards

Phil

I assume you have an extension of stay based upon working you got from immigration not a B visa.

If you are already married to a Thai you can get a 60 day extension to visit your wife.

A re-entry permit would not give you any additional time beyond your current permit to stay date. It would certainly not give you an additional 3 months

Thanks, I had heard about this. And I don't need to leave the country before getting this extension?

You would not need to leave to get it.

Just take your wife with you when you apply and have a letter from your employer stating you are no longer working to cancel you current extension.

You will need your marriage certificate (plus a copy), copies of your wife's house book and ID card.
