Better transportation service expected for Loy Krathong festival this year

BANGKOK, 28 October 2014 (NNT) - The Cabinet on Tuesday gave nods to the measures to facilitate and ensure safety for the people when they travel during the Loy Krathong festival this year.

Deputy government spokesman Maj.Gen. Sansern Kaeokamnerd said the measures were proposed by the Ministry of Transport with the goal to provide better transportation service for Loy Krathong revellers.

The measures focused on areas with traffic congestion and accident-prone roads. Minor and main roads would also be improved so that the revellers celebrated the Loy Krathong festival conveniently and safely, Maj.Gen. Sansern said.

The Cabinet also instructed relevant units to make sure that no entertainment venue operated outside the allowed operating hours or hired illegal immigrants. Offenders would face legal actions immediately, said the deputy spokesman.
