Thanks for that , can you help with bus company i went to terminal yesterday and i could not fine one ,the signs are all in Thai, and everyone i asked told me there is no bus go there only Chantaburi.

and you are again the tipical dumfounded farang who does not realise that often replies on this forum are wrong and that it should be just a short hop from Chant to Trat? You may even with some luck at the right time catch a direct through bus or van to the ferry from there. Anyway Trat is not a wrong place to spend a nite if stuck.

I recently took the bus from Kon Kahn to Pattaya. Might be easy for you to go from Korat to Pattaya. Then go from Pattaya to Ko chang. I haven't bussed to Ko Chang but I am sure I have seen such things in the travel agent shops I have been into

Thanks for that help.

In terms of distance Chantaburi is, actually a better option than Trat, provided you can find a connecting bus to the ferry terminal. I recommend the Au Ta Machat ferry, closer to Chantaburi plus it is better maintained and quicker, and cheaper to get to the fun side of Koh Chang from there. Even getting a taxi in Chanta to the ferry would not really break the bank.
