Five men, including an Australian national, were arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of operating an illegal online gambling ring in Preah Sihanouk province.

After a week-long investigation, the suspects were arrested at a villa at about 3pm during a police raid, said immigration police department head General Sok Phal.

"There were accusations that these people were gambling without permission," Phal said.

Following the raid, police seized several computers, mobile phones and other gambling-related equipment from the villa, which was owned by the Australian.

The suspects have been temporarily detained at the Interior Ministry in Phnom Penh as the alleged gambling ring reportedly has strong ties in the city.

The men were to be sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for a hearing today.

I thought gambling was legal in Cambodia?

Well it is but you sure need to get a gambling license for that and this guys did not have that I guess.

Anyway, the article is not clear => the title mentions "online" but in the text it's more like people playing cards at home. Probably hidden stories.
