Final rice export expected in mid-November

According to Khun Rangson in the OP there are 8 million tonnes in storage.

According to Prayuth a couple of days ago, there are 18 million tonnes in storage.

Someone is lying!! Wonder who??

City dudes cannot write stories about farm products, they already think rice grows in plastic bags.

However. Reading between this city boy's lines, I'm pretty sure that Rangson said there are 8 million tonnes of 5 percent (broken) rice. This is the gold-standard type of rice that Thailand sells, so he is talking about a base for pricing.

There are 8 million tonnes of that. Then that would leave 10 million tonnes of other types - everything from 50% broken to khao hom. Those numbers - if that is what he means and the reporter/editor didn't have a clue as usual - those numbers sound roughly copasetic.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

Minimum wage = THB 806,400 a year... Are you sure? It makes THB 67,200 per month > THB 3,054 per day

Most likely: THB 300 a day x 22 = THB 6,600 per month > THB 79,200 per year

They've lost $15,625,000,000, or a 500,000,000,000 loss...

Minimum wage is...... $24,736 or .... ..... .... 806,400 baht a year

But the politicians could face you and say,

15 billion dollars lost here

15 billion dollars lost there

Eventually it's going to add up to real money.

But, don't worry trust us, we know what we are doing.

300 baht an hour, 10 hour days = 3000

x 6 day work week = 18,000 x 4 weeks= 72,000,

x 12 months. 864,000 I was low...

6 day week 18,000 times 50 weeks = 900k or /32 = $28,125 (2 weeks off for holidays)

OR....

300 x 8 = 2,400

x 5 days = 12,000 baht

x 50 weeks 600,000 baht a year... (2 weeks off for holidays)

600k \ 32 = $18,750

We know many are NOT paid this amount...

And exchange rates aren't precise for hands on.

But REAL the point was

the relation between what politicians see as acceptable loss/trust us

and the average Thai working for minimum wage.

You're right about the politicians, but just so you're aware: Thailand's minimum wage is 300 baht per DAY
LOL yes a DAY.

So lop off a zero from the 10 hour / 6 day cycle

90,000 baht a year.

Less Than the hourly interest on the government loss loans....

May be, for you, it's fun... I'm not sure that these workers have a laugh when they are paid THB300 a day

Before building "economic theories" please double check your figures...

No matter the figures used the point was still the same.

And I was laughing at myself for being tired and inadvertently juggling hours and days. Not at anyone making so little, as you imply.

But go ahead bash away if it makes you feel better.... You still were missing the forrest of concept and point, while staring at a single tree of nits to be picked. Argument ad hominem never wins the day.

Believing (and insisting) that the minimum salary in Thailand is over THB800K (or THB600K in your edited post) does show your very little knowledge about Thailand's economics and make your "demonstration" very weak.

BTW, I don't see why you, suddenly, start to use some kind of Latin. Be my guest I studied it for more than 7 years!
