I am from Taiwan and my wife is Thai. I work in Vietnam and enter Bangkok about 16-20 times a year. I always pay for VOA but there are a lot of people especially tourist groups from China for VOA and it takes more and more time of waiting. I am thinking how to get a multiple entry visa on marriage.

After reading, it seems I have two options,

Option 1). Go to Thai Consulate in Savannakhet in Laos to get a multiple entry on marriage.

Option 2). Get a dependent non-O visa with single entry (90 days) in Taiwan and then get extension in Bangkok. My question is that I am only able to stay a week or so in Bangkok each trip. If I have 400,000 baht in my bank account in Bangkok for two months, is it possible that I go to extend my non-O visa to one year and get multiple entry permit in the same week after my entry with dependent non-O single entry visa? In most topics, people want to stay as long as possible each entry so they apply for extension after 60 days of entry. I am confused in my case....I don't stay long each entry. I want to get it fast.

Many thanks!

Your best option certainly would be the multiple entry non-o from Savannakhet.

You would not have enough time here to do an extension of stay based upon marriage. If you got the non-o visa you would get a 90 day entry but would not be able to apply for the extension until the last 30 days of the entry. When you apply for the extension you then have a 30 day under consideration period before you get the extension stamp.
