Hi guys

I have a Thai friend who has been a manager for about 2 years for a Thai company with branches all over Thailand. She has worked her way up from reception and has done well yet is encountering problems/issues with her staff that from my point of view could be eased or even solved by her reading a degree level basic management textbook.

I have studies business myself and do find some prescribed textbooks in this area are sometimes quite common knowledge yet I think she would definately benefit from one of these just to brighten up her basics in management.

She is Thai and has a bachelors degree so studying is not the problem. Can anyone recommend a book written in Thai or even a Thai author who might have written a book on this? I have tried googling but nothing really coming up and dont know too much about who would be renowned in this field?

Any advice on how to find such a text would be greatly appreciated..

It's like Albert Einstein's Quotation:" I know that I know nothing." Sorry, don't know a good book in Thai.

Maybe you try your luck in the Thai language section? Is Google in Thai so different that she wouldn't find the right book? Good luck.

What a completely pointless post, absolutely nothing but a waste of time. By the way , the book is a present

Hopefully someone else may actually be able to help

Google translate for Thai is HORRIBLE

there is no way you could read a whole book translated by Google

A PhD student wrote a paper in Thai, used Google Translate, then asked me to make it flow better.

I understood ever word but was unable to get any idea of what he was trying to say.

What was amazing is when he read the English translation he was able to explain the meaning.

He had to translate the Google version for me to be able to write his paper.

Maybe because he actually wrote it in Thai before?

I majored in management at uni and it's a pretty broad subject.

Also most university level text books won't cover the kind of things which she needs, as she likely needs a little bit from multiple papers/text books.

Books which are designed for degrees are also likely going to more focus on theory rather than practical application.

There might be books which are more designed for use by managers, rather than management students though. Maybe "Managing Employees - for dummies" if you can find a Thai version of it (Check their website and email them, it's a famous book series so might be translated into Thai).

Several of Peter Drucker's books on management have been translated into Thai. Buy them for her.

Thanks mate

I've done a search for him and really like the look of what he's written.

Can anyone suggest a Thai bookshop that may stock his publishings as I'm overseas so sending it from here would be cost more and the book might not be available here

You might contact the Peter Drucker Society of Thailand:
