My students often don't realize that their pronunciation is so different from native English speech. (They have already formed their bad pronunciation habits in Thai, Japanese, Korean, etc. schools.) The math and science pronunciation sites above include a 'hint' feature - students can hear a native voice pronounce the word and then students can try to mimic that word. If the student can pronounce the word at or near native level, the student gets a point and a new word to pronounce. Anyway, please give me any feedback. I can alter these sites, so your advice is very welcome. The current sites are set to "American" English, but can be reset to British, Canadian, Kiwi, or Australian English.

Ha ha. Good one. Sorry, no Germish, but you can set the site to German. There are actually 26 languages with multiple dialects. Go to http://psysoft.netau.net and click the 'Speech Checker' tab. Then you can choose a language. The speech recognition part was developed by geeks at MIT.

That's my email. If you use Google Chrome (not Safari, Firefox, etc.) then you should have no problem accessing the sites. They are free.

Sorry, but there is just "British English," no Scottish. There is an Indian English dialect setting.

Go to http://psysoft.netau.net and click the "Speech Checker" tab. The language / dialect menu is on the lower left side.

You can set the site to Spanish but not sure about the gangland slang. If you can speak it that's cool.
