Just come to Thailand on a Tourist visa. When my visa expires can i then go to Cambodia or Laos and get a new tourist visa at the embasy and the fly into Thailand again?

Before it expires you extend 30 days for Bt 1,900 at any immigration office.

Then you don't need to fly unless you want to.

After your 30 day extension you need to apply for another tourist visa in a neighboring country. You can apply for either a single or double. The single costs 1000 baht, the double 2000 baht. If you go to Savannakhet, they are currently issuing the visa on the same day that they are applied for. You can enter Thailand either by land, sea or air and you will get 60 days permission to stay. If you get a double entry, each entry can be extended for an additional 30 days at immigration in Thailand for 1900 baht. I hope that this provides you with the answer that you are looking for.
