Hello,

I go to university here in Thailand and last month I got my Filipino wife and daughter non "O" dependent visa with my ED visa in Manila.

The problem is I mistakenly got the single entry (90 days) instead of the multiple 1 yr visa.

This time I will go get the 1 yr from Laos or Cambodia in December. My question is will I need to get my marriage/birth certificate translated to Thai? Both of the documents are from Philippines in English.

I didn't have to get them translated when I go their 90 day "O" from the Thai Embassy in Manila, Philippines. I was thinking that might be because the embassy is in Philippines.

Thanks in advance.

You will not be able to get them multiple entry visas anywhere in the region.

A marriage certificate in English will be accepted at an embassy, consulate or immigration.

If you are on an extension of stay (not a visa) you got from immigration your wife and child can get extensions of stay as your dependents under clause 2.11 of the immigration order.

Yes I have my extension of stay it expires Nov 9 2015 now. I just renewed it Monday and I tried to extend theirs at the same time.

The lady at immigration said they could only extend for 7 days when it runs out because they have the single not multiple "O". She pointed at the Entry type "s" and said can not.

I do remember there was a sign at the embassy in Manila saying single 90 days (1900 Baht) and multiple 1 yr (6000 Baht). I thought I could just extend like I did with mine but immigration here said no.

So are you saying I cant get the multiple she was talking about? I thought they should get the same date as mine when I extend it at immigration.

You were told nonsense at immigration. There is no requirement for them to have multiple entry visas to get an extension.

A single entry visa is what most people have when they apply for an extension at immigration.

You need to go back to immigration and make the applications. If given wrong info again ask for supervisor.

You will need your child's birth certificate as well as your marriage certificate.

What is shown on a sign at embassy for fees is not an indication of what they will issue.

Ok, thanks for the advice.

The first lady I saw to extend our visas did the paperwork for mine then told me I had to talk her boss about my families extension and this "boss" told me no I need to get them a new visa. I sure there's someone higher in command so I guess I'll try again next week.

I had all the documents required she just pointed at single and said I can not extend theirs because of that. I guess she is just giving me a hard time.
