Retirement

Featured Replies

I wonder if you can help. My husband and I live in Chiang Mai on retirement extensions and qualify by each having 800,000 baht in our Bank accounts in Thailand. We arrived 31 October 2012 with a Non Imm B Single visa issued in London, we originally thought we would work but soon realised that retirement was the best option so on 28 January 2013 a retirement extension was issued. We did not leave Thailand during that year and so we did another extension on 28 January 2014. We returned to the UK and so obtained re-entry permits - we flew to the UK on 18th July 2014 and returned to Thailand on 15 August 2014.

Tomorrow we plan to do our 90 day report and looking at the passports note that our departure card is stamped admitted until 28 January 2015 and the re-entry permit stamped USED.

Can you clarify that we can continue to do a retirement extension in January 2015 and that we do not have to get a new visa. I have had some sleepless nights so look forward to your response. Many thanks in advance.

You are allowed entry until your current extension of stay expires 30 days before it expires do another extension. The re-entry must have been a single entry and so is now used. No need for another non-o visa.
