How to get from Bangrong Pier (will arrive with the ferry from Koh Yao Noi) to Khao Sok? I read there is a bus every hour from Phuket Main Bus Station, but it would be a long way from the pier to Phuket city center, in the wrong direction.

I guess there will be a bus from the pier to the airport, will the bus from Phuket downtown to Khao Sok also stop there? Or is it a good idea to board the bus at it's original departure point because it just start if it's full and if we get in there at the airport we will not get any seat?

From Bang Rong, take a taxi or songthaew just to the highway, and wait for a bus there which goes to Takua Pa. The bus might continue to Khao Sok and ultimately Surat Thani, but you might also have to change buses in Takua Pa. There is no need to go to Phuket Town bus station.

My wife goes to Koh Yao often, returning to Bang Rong. She says you can get minibus at Bang Rong that will be going north toward Surat Thani. Might have to phone minibus to have them swing by to Bang Rong. Also there will be motorcycle taxis there to go to the main road (T. Thepkasettri) about 1 km, which is the main drag north with many buses etc.
