i arrived from the u.s.a. and recently went to the pattaya immigration office (now located jomtien soi 5) i was expecting a 10-day extension but for the 1,900 baht they gave me a 15-day? just passing this along for whoever it may assist. had a couple at the next table and the poor fellow had overstayed because his visa was stamped incorrectly. it sounded to me like the immigration officer was telling him overstay fees were now 500 baht/ day? anybody know if this is correct?

Rule number one -- Do not overstay

Rule number two -- Check your stamp before leaving the immigration counter

And yes, overstay is now B 500 per day.
