DEP signs MOU with Saudi Arabia's companies

The Department of Export Promotion has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the processed food import companies of Saudi Arabia.

Chief of Export Promotion Department Chantra Buranarirksh (จันทรา บูรณฤกษ์) revealed that Saudi Arabia has led executives of food import companies to visit Thailand and signed MOU with Thai companies to stimulate Thailand’s total sale of processed food. She said that the food will be ordered and stored to be provisions for Muslims who will travel to Mecca.

She said that Saudi Arabia is likely to import more processed food from Thailand in each year, adding that the first half of the year Saudi Arabia has imported the products worth about 1 billion baht.

The import amount is 55 percent greater than the same period of the last year.
