staying in thailand with visa stamps

Featured Replies

hi , i am polish national , i do work in china... spent there every month 3-10 days....last time i was at the airpoirt and they told me i got 6 visa stamps in my passport and thats the maximum what i could have in a year. Now my question is...have anyone an idea if i can reenter on stamps in january ??? or do i have to wait another 6 months before i can reenter, they advised me to go on a business visa , but i dont have business in thailand. Also i cant do an education visa do to that that i have to go work every month.

There is no rule that I have seen that says that you can only have 6 visa exempt entries over any amount of time.

There have been reports of others being told that but I have yet to see a report of anybody being denied entry based upon that reason.

Your entries fit the profile of a tourist not a visa runner and certainly could not be suspected of working here.

I would do another entry in January but make sure I had my ticket out of the country and 10k baht or the equivalent in cash to show.

they told me i could enter this time but next time i should have an visa ...i dont have business here so i am little bit confused about all that. Is there any possibility they flag me in their computer system ?

Reread you post. Are just staying 3 to10 days in China with the remainder here? If most of your time is spent here with short trips to China they might be using that to question your entries.

About your only choice for a visa would be tourist visa. You could get a 2 entry tourist visa in Laos and get a re-entry permit for your 60 day entry and extension to avoid using the 2nd entry when you go out and return.

How big are the chances getting the visa denied in laos ? I never went there....sorry for being a pain in the a.. .But i have no idea , nev er been to laos.

There is little or no chance of you being denied a visa. They will do as many as 3 of them back to back.

A abusive and unhelpful post has been removed.

Was that at Sub. or Don Mueang Airport ?

There is no rule like that but some rogue officer keeps repeating that.

So 10 days abroad for work and 20 days in thailand and repeated every single month fits profile of tourist, not visa runner? I am asking cuz not sure but it makes sense to me. But that would add up to 12 stamps in a year. I hope airport immigration doesn't make a hassle for that!

I encountered that rouge officer at Don Muang who gave me an identical story. I think the best strategy is to agree with them that you will indeed get a visa next time. It seems no one has been refused entry for exceeding six entries yet.

Someone needs to let the airlines know that immigration at Don Muang is driving their customers away as there are not these hassels at Swampy.
