BANGKOK, Nov 20 -- The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives through its Department of Livestock Development plans to include the Ebola virus disease in the Animal Epidemics Ac BE 2499 to improve control on the disease that animals may carry.

Chavalit Chookajorn, ministry permanent secretary, said that a deputy prime minister agreed with the planned amendment and approved the ministry's bid to seek cabinet approval.

Afterward the amendment will go to the National Legislative Assembly for deliberation.

Mr Chavalit said that the amendment would take effect in four months.

Pending the amendment, he said the Department of Livestock Development required operators to always seek its permission for every importation of live animals and animal carcasses.

At present, the department blocks the import and transit of all products controlled by the Animal Epidemics Act except those from South Africa.

Department officials are watching out for attempts to smuggle animals and carcasses at border checkpoints, sanitizing vehicles crossing the border and checking passengers and luggage from countries facing or risking the Ebola epidemics. (MCOT online news)

Talk about as thick as shit. Ebola is not here, and unless animal control at Suva and Don Muang is lax then it's not going to be here.... Paranoia, or attention seeking?

"At present, the department blocks the import and transit of all products controlled by the Animal Epidemics Act except those from South Africa."

Well you've only got yourselves to blame - idiotic statements and actions.... as ruddy usual.

wow......they will tell the Thais that animals will carry the disease so they DONT worry about human interaction, which is the real transmitter and how Thai society exist through the "face to face" interaction we all here face on a daily basis, which is more so than in Western cultures, ahead with technology.....

I have seen in other Countries how they have initiated this scare campaign to perpetuate the NWO, with other, more familiar "cultural ideals".. SAD State for OUR world... remember there needs to be a Global "catastrophe" to initiate a Global change I feel! Its devious how the they can try and scare /prepare all different cultures about the same campaign with different methods ALL can understand. Take care, TIMES ARE CHANGING!!!
