The Best Car Repair Shop For Electric/ Electronically Problems in Sisaket...

Hello and Sawasdee khrap,

I know how difficult it can be to find the right place to get your car fixed, when having an extraordinary problem, where most shops just quit, as the majority isn't good enough.

Last week, I tried to get my main switch in the driver's door panel fixed, where you can open both windows. You can only buy a whole unit, but I could still open my window and didn't want to spend 5 K for a whole new unit.

To get to the point, I had to drive around for quite a while, actually found the shop, called "Fai Fa" in Sisaket and was really very surprised how the owner fixed the switch.

He opened the switch for the left window, took a look at it, ( what many others did before, including me) sent a guy off to buy two tiny contacts that are inside the switch.

He explained everything to me and I left in a short period of time with a functioning switch. Paid 500 baht with a one year guarantee.

This guy does big bikes, cars, trucks and all sorts of vehicles. A secret place for many garages, if they don't find an electrical, or electronic problem.

Best way to describe where the shop is, would be when you come from Kantharalk road, driving inside to Sisaket. After the traffic lights make a right turn, towards Ubon road, the shop's on the right hand side after about 900 meters.

He also overhauls alternators, fixes starters, etc,, and seems to be the best shop in and all around Sisaket province.

By crikey I wish I had a guy like that in Chum Phae

He sounds really good.

Mostly I use Toyota to service my Toyota vehicle.

They are good but hell they are expensive with a simple oil change and oil filter change costing 8000 baht.

Of course that included the minimum of the full check up service. Maybe I could get the oil done without that full on service?

Regards

I usually buy my oil and filter at a very cool shop in Sisaket, six liters of 15/40, plus filter around 750 baht. There's a nice gas station on the 226 in Sisaket, with a very professional guy, who even cleans the air filter, while the oil drains.

They take only 150 baht. 8000 baht sounds pretty much insane, compared to Mitsubishi. The so called " full check up service is usually free for me and i even get my truck cleaned, when I let them do anything.

Cleaning/ replacing the air filter, checking fluids. timing belt and other belts shouldn't be that expensive.

Once your warranty's over, you might consider to find a better place.

You were robbed Nuddy. I have been through 13 x 10k services for my Fortuner at Toyota Kantharalak (Sisaket).

Prices are usually in the 3,000 to 4,000 region. Once I was charged getting on for 8,000 but that was clearly a much more major service with replacement parts like brakes making up the bulk. Just looked at my recent bills - Motor Oil was 840 baht plus VAT (sorry Lost, you are making a saving but not that much really!) and service labour costs are normally about 1,800 baht (1,250 baht if there is a promotion).

Are you sure that you understand your bill. make-up? I downloaded a PDF of Toyota part numbers for my Fortuner to help me understand my bills and that takes away a lot of the suspicion. I also have a bit of a Thaiglish attempt at an explanation with the service reception - kind of fun with the dolly birds trying to take great pains! I'm amazed they can do what they do for the price - only beef is that they kept trying to sell me a replacement air filter every time (having showed me the old one in a clearly very serviceable state. For those that do 10k in a year that's an ok proposition but I do 30k a year. They know now.

Anyway 8,000 baht for a 10k service would still be dead cheap by comparison with a UK main dealer. I used to routinely pay 25,000 baht plus for my Jag.

You're absolutely right that I do not save a lot of money, by buying my oil and let a gas station do the change.

The only reason for that is that the gas station is right around the corner, where we're living, while Mitsubishi Sisaket is pretty much out of town on the way to Kantharalak.

The guy at the Esso on main road does a great job. He let's all the old oil drain out and cleans the air filter, which Mitsubishi would only do when telling them.

Another reason is that I don't have to wait as long at the gas station and all is done in 25 minutes, inclusive getting there and back home.

On the other hand, it's worth to drive to Mitsubishi, their female employees are breathtaking.. ( Wife hit me twice for just looking at them)

Keep them rolling.....( the tires!) coffee1.gif
