Looks like a rat snake.

Don't kill it.

Be careful, it will bite and they are quick. Depending on which type of,rat snake the venom will differ.

Check the book online.

Thank you guys for very fast replies almost as fast as this snake... No of course I will never kill it. hate these idiots here that on purpose drive over the snakes they see, and kill it as soon as they spot one. no matter what kind it is..Up here in Chaiyaphum we have a lot of Flatsnakes now during harwest of the ricefields!!

Again many thanks, shall check into your different videos and links.

Definitely a rat snake. They are good swimmers also, so if you have a pond they will likely look for frogs for a meal. Also don't be surprised to find them sleeping around your house. I have found two of them just outside the house in boxes of leftover plumbing supplies, luckily before I reached in. One of the most common snakes in our area at least.

It`s a rat snake, completely harmless.

The yellow markings on it`s back give it away. Have a whole nest of them in my garden, they live under our water tank. We don`t bother them and they don`t bother us. No problem. They are very common this time of year.

They are also known to the Thais as P̄hi Ngu meaning ghost snake, and if brutally murdered will return and haunt those that hurt them for the rest of their lives. This happened to my father in law after he killed a rat snake with a knife, horrible, HORRIBLE way he died in the end.

Again guys!! Many thanks for your great help, and also for your nice extra information about these snakes... I like this thing with the Phi Ngoo!!!!!

So with that I could calm down Mrs Glegolo here, so all good....Nothing killed and nothing bothered, just a nice experience so widly different from what I can see and experience home in Sweden.
