How to get a DTAC plan without a credit card

Featured Replies

The Thai teacher in my previous school told me that he got an iphone plan from DTAC without a credit card. I got no plans of getting one before so I never asked him how. Now, my jurassic phone is dying and I need a new one. Iphone is very tempting but I can't afford the 20,000+ baht cash. crying.gif

So I want to know if I can get a plan from DTAC using my work permit/visa. I don't have a credit card.

I want to know the downpayment as well and the monthly fee.

Thanks in advance. biggrin.png

As far as I'm aware it's not possible. Maybe he had an AEON or First Choice card.

To be fair if you can't afford an iPhone then don't buy one. Many equally good phones for a LOT less money!

'Not sure I understand your question, but I got DTAC Happy sim a couple of years back. It's a prepaid plan. I just keep topping it up (which can be done at a 7-11 or online either via the DTAC website or the Kbank website - I have a Kbank svngs acct ). No credit card required. The particular Happy plan I got is probably no longer available, but I'm sure others are.

Dealing with the DTAC storefronts can be problematic; some handle foreigners/english better than others. I think I ended up getting mine(and getting it activated) at Tukcom. They register simcards now, so have your passport with you.

They usually will break it into 10 payments but i think if you cant pay all at once, you cant afford it.

Only with the credit cards listed on their website!

You can get a post pay account easily enough with DTAC.

The option to spread payments is based on having a Thai Credit Card.

For example, if you have a credit limit of 100'000 baht and you opt to spread the payments over 10 months interest free and the phone costs 20'000 Baht. The 20'000 THB will be taken off your available credit immediately, and you will pay back 2000 baht a month for 10 Months.

DTAC will not be offering the credit, it will be dependent on you having a valid Thai Credit Card.

Please reconsider buying iPhone,

seems you can not afford it, but more importantly, you can buy better phone for much less money.

Don't do the typical Thai thing - MUST own the latest flagship phone, while making 12.000 thb a month!
