North Korean editorial placed the blame for Ebola at the feet of the United States

SYDNEY: -- KIM Jong-un has a new conspiracy theory: Washington invented Ebola and is wielding it to restrain the developing world.

The idea emerged in an editorial of the Pyongyang Times on Monday.

“Fears are rising after suspicions were aroused that the virus was made and spread by the US,” the introduction screams.

Entitled “Ebola virus much feared as biological weapon”, the political mouthpiece asserts Ebola is a multifaceted conspiracy — reaping rewards for Big Pharma through vaccine sales while gutting economies that could grow to challenge the United States.

“In the long run, it seems that the US wants the virus spread throughout the world while promoting freedom and producing a vaccine to make a fortune,” it reads.

And they’re using US citizens to substantiate their claims.

All known outbreaks have begun in remote areas, where bush meat is popular. The challenge has been for the African authorities to quarantine those affected areas and keep the virus from spreading to populated urban areas. The Congolese and Ugandans succeeded in doing this - while recently the Liberians, Sierra Leonians and Guineans have failed miserably. One of the big obstacles is the refusal by some Africans to accept any responsibility or modify their behaviour - much easier to blame the White Man!
