It started this morning around 06:00.

I finally gave up trying to sleep and got up to the sound of more fire crackers going off at 06:30.

3 hours later and no sign of a let up. Different shops/homes around the neighbourhood will let of strings of those Chinese fire crackers at different times. It's not so bad when it's the next block over, but when it's on the same block those things are LOUD !

Has there been an invasion of evil spirits recently ? I don't see any signs of celebrations any where (whoop, there goes another string nearby).

Why today ?

Yep, that's the one. My wife and her sisters just went back home to Chon Buri yesterday to celebrate it. Very astute of you Artisan to know that. :o
