What a relief!!!

My wife called me from Nahkon Sawan today. She was so happy and excited!

She had just had a call from the Oz embassy in BKK to say she can collect her Visa in 15 days time.

I went to BKK during Songkran (middle April) to submit the application but my plans fell to pieces.

Vital documents still had to be obtained which meant travelling 3 times from Nakhon Sawan to BKK.

The application still wasn't ready when I left. Very frustrating indeed!

The application for my wife and her two boys was finally submitted on the 23rd May.

She had her interview 5 weeks after the application.

In all it took 11 weeks to get the call and the Visa should be ready to collect after a total of 13 weeks.

I think that's what you guys had predicted.

Considering that I had to get special permission to allow a "third" sponsorship

and that my wife's medical results got lost after the interview,

(she had go to BKK to do them again) I was completely taken by surprise.

I was expecting to do the whole 9 months ..

It just so happens that I was going to LOS this weekend for a 3 week stay!

So now I can bring my wife and the boys back to Oz with me! Yippee!!

Thanks to all who have given me encouragement and advice through the torture

of preparing the application and worst of all .. the waiting.

Now I can come out of hiding and start living again!

Congrats mate. We are still waiting. Thats been 3 months and 1 week since the wifes interview. I hope it hurries up. Well done and congrats again.
