Hello,

Well, my story is quite simple. I am planning to head to Penang next Wednesday with my papers and a WP3 to get a new visa. My passport is rather full, so I was wdonerring, am I going to have problems when I eventually have to buy a new passport (British) and will need to transfer the stamp. What will happen? Can you have extra pages added to a GB passport now or has this all stopped?

And also, for this visa, if I was to change jobs (I'm a journalist) and move to another company, which I'm thinking of doing, does this make both my visa and work permit (which I don't have yet) void? I'm just weighing up whether or not it is worth going to Penang or not if something might happen in terms of a new job or my company goes bust (which also may happen).

Thanks

You must have at least one full blank page for the visa!!

No extra pages for Brits, but there will be no problem transfering the visa to the new passport.

I am pretty sure changing job invalidates your work permit and hence the visa,

but not sure if the visa is only three months.

Certainly any extension of a Non Imm based on a work permit, will be curtailled if the WP expires or is cancelled.

Loss of a work permit does not invalidate a visa, or a visa entry. Only an extension of stay from Immigration ends in the event of loss of job.

But I do not believe a visa can be transferred. Your permitted to stay stamp can be transferred and believe if you have a multi entry visa that is still valid and has not been defaced in your old passport that can be used together with the new passport until expiry.

Just one further question to clarify things in my mind.

When I get my non-im b visa, if the company I work for should fail to sort my work permit due to it going under or something similar, where would i stand in terms of my visa? Am i still able to stay in the kingdom for 90 days until which time I could find a new employer, or is my visa jeopardised because of problems with the work permit side of things? I'm not saying my company will certainly not process my wp, but there is an element of uncertainty at the moment.
