Briggsy
There used to be a place on Soi Rang Nam at the Phaya Thai end of the road. It was very trendy a few years ago and in a very different bracket to the upmarket hotels on the website link. No idea if it is still there. drgoon
Zepellin is good. If you are getting a taxi probably best to go on the BTS to Ekamai or Phra Khanong then cab it. Good open air deck, good food, good drinks. Expensive but they all are.
Popular Post Rumblecat
Zeppelin is okay, although it lacks a bit of atmosphere and the view isn't that great but it does have a glass walkway with a horrifying drop beneath it which will make any legs seem unsteady after a few drinks and is worth it for that. Above Eleven on the 33rd floor of the Fraser Suites at Suk 11 is pretty nice but it does get quite busy at the weekend. Probably the best location wise for being near the nightlife, although it depends where your nightlife takes you. I quite like Speakeasy at Hotel Muse- not the biggest place but the drinks and food are good.Cloud 47 at Silom is worth a look, not the most comfortable but it's got a weird futuristic style of it's own- not been there in about a year so don't know how busy it gets.Rooftop restaurant at Muse Thonglor is pretty good as well- view aren't the best but it's right on top of the club so that's the shortest distance between cocktails and nightlife I can think of.

smotherb
Rent the two rooms on the top floor of the Dynasty facing Soi 4; then book all the ladies from Nana Plaza--there is a full-width balcony serving those two rooms, and a great view of Soi 4

KevinB
Vertigo - on the roof of the Banyam Tree - no rival in terms of a city wide view and shockingly expensive drinks but hell guys it is Xmas and treat yourself and your friends to a present. KevinB
If you want a full 360degree view of the City and the river - Vertigo on the Top of the Banyam Tree has no rivals and you won't find a more expensive cocktail or one served with more class. But hey guys it is Xmas and we have just got through another year in Thailand.

Blackfox
Vertigo is unrivaled. I go regularly and will dine with family and friends from out of town early New Year again.
taiwangirl
I like Marriott Suk Soi 57. A couple of different levels - the top is 360 degree. The levels just below that do not go all the way around but have more intimate seating for couples if that is what you are looking for. I like Long Table by Asok even though it is not quite rooftop. I think it is on floor 25 and is only on one side of the building. But quite close to Sukhumvit and soi cowboy I did not really the Lebua tower. mikiea
over-priced booze served to you while you sit on whorehouse furniture. talking to a painted tart while trying to understand her motive for conversation with you. gaze over the beautiful sky-line dotted with underwear & blankets hanging from the decks of twenty five meter apartments. ahh yes...roof top bars, sweet. :-)

At least most of them mostly know how to mix a cocktail, not like bars that use some ethanol flavoured shit brewed in a barrel, filtered and poured back into an old bottle with a label
