Need to stay 15 more days

Featured Replies

Good day all,

I am 65 years old with a Canadian passport. I entered Thailand the 1st of November with a 30 day airport stamp. After 28 days went to a Travel Agency and they got me an extension for 30 additional days. So, total 60 days in the Kingdom. I have to leave the country soon as the departure date is coming up. I would like though to stay 15 more days as I have an airline ticket for the 13th of January and would love to spent holidays here. Can I get another extension and for how long? Thank you in advance.

You cannot get another extension.

You could leave an re-enter the country to get another 30 days. Doing it by air would be best.

Thank you for your advise. Leave for how long? I can fly to Singapore.

You can do it on the same day. Singapore or anywhere else would be OK.

can't canadians get 30 days at land crossings? or have I missed another revision? ie Chiang Mai bus to Mae Sai...

Canadians do qualify for 30 days at land crossings. But they have been cracking down on multiple visa exepmt entries at these crossings and since you entered on a 30 day visa exempt entry and have extended it for 30 days, you might have problems coming back in on another visa exempt entry. It's really a crap shoot with the IO at the border crossing. If you try, make sure that you have your ticket exiting Thailand within 30 days, which you do, and 20000 baht cash to show that you have money to support yourself.

Currenty it's easier to do it by air hence the recommedationthat you fly! good luck and Happy New Year.

I'm not the op but i will gladly accept the well-wishes, thank you and happy new year to you as well.
