December 23, 201411 yr Hi everyone, This April I plan to bring my gf with me n Europe. There is no reason she won't be eligible for the visa but since i need to buy the plane tickets first I would like to subscribe an insurance in case her visa his denied. I usually buy my ticket via Opodo but i have just checked that their cancellation insurance works only with European citizens...therefore I would like to know how people usually buy their plane ticket for thai national and are able to cancel if there is any problem. Thank you
December 23, 201411 yr I think you are better off looking at the airlines refund policy instead. They may refund the ticket for a fee, but you have to check carefully the booking terms.
December 23, 201411 yr Visa application site clearly states not to buy travel tickets before issue of the visa. Is it a price thing ?
December 23, 201411 yr Author Visa application site clearly states not to buy travel tickets before issue of the visa. Is it a price thing ? Shengen visa (at least for France), I must book my tickets first and only then I will be able to provide all the paperwork necessary for this visa. I'm sure it should not be a problem for the visa but I just worry if they denie it. I'm gonna check the cancellation policies on airlines. Thanks
December 23, 201411 yr One must have a copy of the reservation of the return ticket for the time intended to be travelling. It is not recommendable to buy the ticket before getting the visa, if not necessary. You can make a reservation and print it, you dont have to actually buy any tickets, look here: http://flight.tvairbookings.com/TVAirWeb/index.aspx
December 24, 201411 yr Book direct with the airline you wish to use, there is a fee to cancel, myself and wife had to tickets with EVA, this year to fly to the UK, but had to cancel both, refund was made with in 2 weeks, and refunded all less their fee.

So in case of the OP: don't bookl, just reserve the tickets, and pay upon confirmation of the visa.
January 3, 201511 yr If an unpaid reservation won't suffice, then just buy a fully refundable ticket. (Yes, it will cost more. The more heavily discounted tix are a tradeoff.)
