Excuse me if this has already been mentioned or confirmed but just wanted to share that I was at Bangkok Immigration yesterday for an extension and the immigration officers all had a paper on their desk that they quickly pointed to, without comment, that was written in both Thai and English stating that an overstay of more than 90 Days will result in a 1-year ban from entering Thailand. I didn't even notice it until my wife pointed it out to me.

Again excuse me if this has already been mentioned but hadn't seen it mentioned in threads where I see people asking if they are going to have any problems taking care of their overstays.

It's currently in the works not law just yet, these notices have been around for a while as a sort of pre-emptive strike.

Overstayers are currently OK with the max 20k fine when leaving, but exactly when the warning period will end nobody knows.

There are threads, but it hit the fan a little while back, search on posts from August or thereabouts.
