chuchok Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I've never been able to find mushies like these.Do they exist up here, or am I going to the supermarket at the wrong times?

Try "hed hua ling" (monkey head mushrooms). They're semi dried and are like eating a bacony meat, you'll be amazed and may forget the "English" mushrooms. I'm told they're sold at Muangmai market, but it may not be easy.
p1p Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 These are sold in Rimping as Champignon. Quite expensive. I fear "Hed Hoa Ling" are slightly different but they are available at Muang Mai and at some roadside stalls upcountry.
