kkerry
You can buy them in Thailand (Google is your friend)... problem is they sell for around 2,000 baht so overpriced. I was going to buy one here until I discovered with a smart TV I could get by without one as my requirements are basic. Samsung phone or Sony tablet mirror connection works great for me so I will wait until I have someone over from the US before I get chromecast for my non-smart TVs.
Thaijack2014
Just checked Lazada: they sell them, starting at 1650 Baht. But why would you want to buy this device? To my opinion it is limited and there are (especially on Lazada) very good offers of Android boxes which are independent, have a quad core processor and cost not much. You can connect external hard drives, usb sticks, memory cards etc to them. You can do neary everything with these boxes that you can do with a good Android phone (except using it as a phone - not counting skype, line etc). Here are some sites, check them out: http://www.cnet.com/news/chromecast-vs-apple-tv-vs-roku-3-which-media-streamer-should-you-buy/ http://www.lazada.co.th/catalog/?q=chromecast http://www.lazada.co.th/catalog/?q=android+box
SurinBeach
Haven't tried Samsung screen mirroring but since its about the only manufacturer I buy from nowadays I'll try it on my Smart Samsung, thing is I have 2 not so Smart Samsung 51" Plasmas so the Chromecast will be useful there ... SurinBeach
Hi ThaiJack Just noticed on Lazada they have Chromecast with 5-7 days delivery.... http://www.lazada.co.th/google-chromecast-black-562256.html Where the one I ordered 18 days ago is an Import. Re price I bought one on UK ebay for 30GBP = 1600thb so much the same price as here just that my brother is coming out next week anyway. Ps I also have an Android box which my daughter has sort of commandeered as her PC nowadays, I stiil think driving your TV from Phone or Tablet is a less clumbsy option when laying on the Sofa or in bed though .... The problem I run in to is even in good hotels, despite most TVs having a USB connection, many will not play content from a connected flash drive or hard disk. I'm used to Samsung TVs that play just about anything but the hotels I stay at seem to have TVs that sometimes won't even play MP3s. The alternative is to plug in my laptop via HDMI but even that is not simple when the TV is wall mounted. My thinking is if I can plug a chromecast in to a HDMI slot then I should be able to use it with the hotel wi-fi to view my content on a screen bigger than my tablet. It would of course be simpler if all tablets had micro-HDMI but most don't. Edited December 28, 2014 by kkerry
Chicog
There is a problem with that, usually they have a login page that queers the deal, or some only allow 1 device per userid. You can go mobile hotspot but you'll need decent 3G or 4G.

Would one of these solve that problem? http://www.asus.com/Networking/WL330NUL/ Then you will have your own wireless LAN in the hotel room with a shared internet connection, even when there is a logon web page and single device limit.
