All they seem to have is a box of Chinese crackers and a load of rockets... 200,000 baht... that is a serious amount of fireworks, and given that they love to show off their booty, where is the rest of it? And were the 'kids' caught for their dangerous behaviour? Seems a bit unfair if all the guy was selling was crackers and rockets.. hey ho... Happy New Year...

^^ Check the link and see the other pictures of the stock of fireworks as well as read that sale of fireworks was banned in Banglamung/Pattaya.

I did and think for once the police did the right thing.

Sounds very unjust.

Why unjust???

These traders sell to young kids ALL year round

Where I live it sounds like being in a war zone most nights of the week EVERY week

Nice to see the authorities putting a rocket up these guys.

Sounds very unjust.

What does, launching fireworks at unsuspecting members of the public, or arresting the shop owner for selling dangerous illegal items?

It's illegal to sell fireworks, they're banned in that area, why should he be allowed to sell them?

Is this just a token raid, only a few hours of sales left before year end???

Remember working in "Mary Street" in Dublin, late October about ten years ago, old women were selling illegal cigarettes and fire works openly from prams to kids, plenty of police about, only thing they would do was chase the kids if they let the fireworks off in the street.

it was clear the police could see and knew what these women were selling but the women appeared to be untouchable.

Good job by the District Officials.

The fireworks are illegal, noisy, dangerous and pose a real fire danger. The public fireworks display here in Pattaya is a very good show. That is more than enough for this reader.

Happy New Year All.
