KhonJaiYen
I'm wondering if any of the members have any insights into importing a scooter from the UK. I have a 1965 Lambretta SX200, but don't know how to start or even if it is possible. Also, if I can get it imported how do you go about getting it registered. Thanks in advance for any information. dave_boo
I would just keep it way it is. Importing vehicles is fraught with problems and if a Customs official takes a shine to it...what can you do? Add in the issues of keeping a 2T going as the country is moving to gasohol. IMHO
You didn't mention which customs official you wanted to give it to - I assume you have one in mind?
Rdrokit
Once you got it in country (if you get it pass customs) you would need to go to a Thai Transportation office to get it inspected and pay tax (over and above the import tax) to get a green book and license plate. When you add up all the costs you could buy a couple new bikes here. Just sell your bike in the UK. If you want a classic and not a new bike you can check this website. http://www.thaiscooter.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=95&s=5d629be8de0eb6d59a609d7e0c6532cd
