BBC "Air Asia not licensed to fly Surabaya-Singapore route on the day of the crash"

This is what the BBC are reporting

Ok, thanks.

Apparently the licence for thru winter period does not allow Sundays.

Here, FYI.

"In another development, it has emerged that AirAsia did not have official permission to fly the Surabaya-Singapore route on Sunday - the day of the crash - but was licensed on four other days of the week.

The Indonesian authorities are suspending the company's flights on this route with immediate effect pending an investigation, a transport ministry statement said."

If it had no permission to fly, why was it allowed to take off from Surabaya last Sunday with 162 people aboard?

Would the weather conditions have been different if it HAD been on a Monday or Wednesday?

Certainly. It was beautiful on wednesday.

But, of course, you are correct. This is a silly news story that has no relevance to the crash. it's a clerical error that no one caught. Air traffic controllers rightly let a scheduled flight take off.

Actually could have serious ramifications for insurance.

They will not have been insured ..Air Asia will have a massive payout on there hands now.

Unthinkable that they overlooked getting a license for a specific day of the week, more like a cost cutting get out for a low cost airline.

Obviously that would be possible.

Air Asia is number one who needs a license that is something for Farang

That will cost them what, £60M for the plane, and alot more to pay out to the families as it was illegally flying - £300-400 million perhaps in total
