What are the chances of me getting a seat from BKK to CM on same day?

Featured Replies

If I travel from Trat to MoChit station do you think I could get a seat on a bus heading to CM later that night?

I'm pretty sure I've had to wait a day or two before, but maybe there are always seats available and I just picked the wrong time to try it.

Cheers

I would think your chances are pretty good if it isn't a weekend and not a holiday. Quite a few buses going that direction. Plus, if you don't mind a bit of a wait, it would make it easier.

Cheers, it's good to know.

Can't really be bothered jumping around BKK, so I'll just get earliest bus from Trat and see what I find.

Good God, yeah. There are buses every 20 mins or so with various firms, plus the gov buses. New Year's, Songkran and Loi Krathong are the only real times you'd need to book a seat. The First Class government blue/white one is about the best vs cost (from memory, one only flies nowadays rolleyes.gif), while the VIP ones have the option of singular seats. Whatever you do, leave the cheapest one as the last resort, which is like 13-14-hours! Standard time is around 9 hours, maybe 10.

As an alt, just checked with Lion Air and they're flying to CM from DMuang for 1,175. That first class bus would be about 7-800 at a guess. Cheers

Wouldn't the train be more relaxing, much safer and more comfortable?
