Hi all,

I've searched some previous posts and it seems that the minimum salary requirement of ฿50k per month for British citizens is only required when applying for extension of stay, not for the work permit application itself.

As most of the posts were quite old, can anyone give me some updated information on this?

Thanks in advance.

There is no minimum salary requirement to get a work permit.

The only salary requirement is for getting an extension of stay under clause 2.1 of the police order.

Thanks Joe, much appreciated.

Do you also know if it's possible to apply for a work permit with a Non-O based upon supporting children? Wife and I not officially married.

Thanks and regards.

You can get a work permit and work with a non-o visa entry or an extension of stay based upon being the parent of Thai. You just need to include a copy your child's birth certificate with the work permit application.

Ubonjoe, is the clause you referenced available online?

I am just curious as to whether there are exceptions for working or volunteering in Thai government agencies or with recognized charities.

Clause 2.1 is for getting an extension based upon working for a company. There are others for teaching. volunteer and etc.

See Police Order 327/2557 basis for extension of stay.
