Conservation of dolphins and the ecological system in the Khanom bay in Nakhon Si Thammarat is promoted this week

The Marine and Coastal Resources Department and Khanom (ขนอม) District in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province will hold activities to conserve dolphins and the ecological system in the Khanom bay.

Khanom District Chief Santhad na Nakhon (สันทัด ณ นคร) said those activities, to be carried out between August 15th and 20th, include rehabilitating mangrove forests, coral reefs, sea grass and other marine and coastal resources which are deteriorating.

Mr. Santhad said visitors can help clean up the beach and the sea, grow mangroves and get a rare glimpse of pink dolphins.

Hope it works. The pollution in the area from the fishing boats (ie dumping their used oil, leftover fishing nets, used rubber gloves, old lightbulbs etc into the sea) is quite bad. Don Sak, where the car ferries dock, also has dolphins, saw some last time we went to Surat Thani.

So the guys that tell this:

"This is approximately 15 kilometers south of Koh Samui on the mainland and boasts a 10 kilometer strip of pristine beach front. Our prices for beachfront, are from around 2.5M baht per rai and only approximately 150 rai of this prime beach land is left direct from the owners."

left out some important details.

But knowing they are from Samui makes it more understandable. They all seem to have a way of telling nice stories and leave out those pesky details.
