webfact
Alongkorn: Too soon to decide how NRC's suggestions will be included in new charterBANGKOK, 6 January 2014 (NNT) - A member of the National Reform Council (NRC) said it is too early to tell how suggestions and opinions of the NRC will be incorporated into the new constitution.According to Alongkorn Ponlaboot, an NRC member and NRC whip, there will be a meeting on January 8th to discuss the direction and the framework of the NRC’s work throughout 2015. The discussion will also include the 1-year reform plan and the drafting of the country’s reform blueprint. He further revealed that it is still too soon to decide how the NRC’s suggestions on reform will be added to the content of the permanent constitution, saying a clearer picture will present itself after January 12th, when the charter drafting committee (CDC) starts deliberating each section of the new constitution. The new charter will be different from those in the past, as it will include two new categories, reform and reconciliation, in a bid to tackle future problems. -- NNT 2015-01-
