English Terminologist needed for immediate start

· Work own hours from anywhere (internet based)

· THB2,500 (or equivalent) per day

The position

You will be working on a contract basis with one or more other terminologists to create a term base for a cloud-based ERP software company. The term base is a customized dictionary of technical terms specific to this company's help file, which will be used to machine translate company files into multiple languages.

The terms have already been selected. Your job will be to create definitions for them based on how they are used in the company context, and to mine the different contexts from their help files.

You don't need experience – we'll spend a few days training you up in our Bangkok Office. All you need is an outstanding level of English to determine precisely what the terms mean and to write definitions for them, and a very basic knowledge of Excel.

Requirements

We need someone who can get the job done. Degrees and other bits of paper are of no interest to us. What we need is someone who:

· Is a native English speaker and has an outstanding command of English (equivalent to an experienced editor or writer)

· Is detail oriented (every mistake gets translated 12 times, so we can't make any)

· Is be able to work out of our Bangkok office for the first few days or once a week (weekends are fine; we're very flexible)

· Is available immediately for 2 days a week or more

Helpful additions

If you meet the above requirements, please apply for the position. In our ideal world you'll also have:

· Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, Supply Chain Management (SCM) software, or similar; and/or

· Background in finance and IT; and/or

· A second language or background in linguistics.
