DoctorG
RIP to the poor little girl. And rip to the perp, as in "rip him apart". (ThaiPBS, please employ native English speakers.) Yes, I doubt that either the police officer or the father spoke in the way that this translation depicts.

Totally unacceptable is the lack of love and the massive superficiality most Thai parents have for their children, leaving them with uncles, aunts, grannies, etc. because it is just so convenient. Then, when S hits the fan, they all come crying and finger pointing... Feel very sorry for the poor little girl and hope that she is in a better place now, where other soulds care for her and truly love her. Death to the monster who raped her and took her life. Scum like this has (in my opinion) no place on this planet and no right to live the rest of their sorry lifes behind bars being fed by tax payers.

mercman24
if i may go off on a tangent, any news on the poor girl from NANA PLAZA who was murdered, it has all gone quiet, and total agreement with all previous posts, on this sad story.
Alan653
Maybe the "father", (if you can call him that all) would be so kind to explain to us, just what would be an acceptable method to rape and murder this innocent little girl. Makes me sick these so called parents.

Popular Post willyumiii
Many children in this country are raised well and loved very much by grandparents, and aunts and uncles. Sometimes it is necessary due to financial situations or the fact that the parents are not in a good position to act as good parents.. lack of maturity ( teens ) or psychologically fit to do so and or financial difficulties. It is a system that works well here and has for many generations. My wife and her sisters were raised more by grandparents and aunts as children than they were by their widowed mother who was forced to leave and earn money to support them My wife grew up to be a fine, university educated women..thanks to her mother's difficult decision to leave her with family. We are close with her mother. We help her when we can and respect her very much for doing what she had to do. I know she was not happy to be separated from her children, but... She was blessed to be in a family and culture where other family members are willing to make a life time commitment to help! What happens in your country when a parent can not support their children?? Foster homes??? Don't be so ready to criticize those who live differently than you have lived.
