Hi

I setting up a offshore company and with a bank account. I then will need reference letter from a bank and I asked one of my banks SCB on Big C branch .

And answer was,Guess? We dont do haha, morons. So here we have a bank that wont even write me a letter to state that I am a customer there in there bank and been for 12 years. And yes they speak good English and understand. I thought about after that the issue was maybe that I wanted it in English and if they dont have that pre written in there computer they wont do it. So my question is anyone here manage to get a reference letter from your bank? I have SCB, Karsikorn and Bangkok Bank so I will try all but be good if some one here manage to get one and let me know what bank and what office. I live in Pattaya.

I got one years ago from manager of my SCB, asked what I wanted written in English, so I wrote it for him, he got one of the girls to type it up on SCB stationary and he attached his business card as well

It's not a service that Thai banks will normally provide for the ordinary retail customer and most international banks would require the reference to be provided bank-to-bank to avoid the situation of customers writing their own references.

Hi Soutpeel.

Thanks for your replay.Ok sounds like the place to go to but witch office is this?

SCB in Rayong on Sukhumvit, not sure whether they will do it for you as your account is not through that branch, my account is, I don't think you will walk in off the street and ask for a reference letter and they will give it to you if your not banking via that branch Edited by Soutpeel

For an "offshore" account even a reference from an existing customer is good enough, I have done a few for colleagues setting up accounts with Citi in Singapore
