ebay shipping costs for large items

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a rough estimate of how much it would cost to ship a sofa from the UK or Australia with ebay via the cheapest method? There are some items I'm interested in and hoping that purchase price + shipping will be cheaper than buying in TH.

If you find someone on eBay selling sofas and (unlikely) willing to ship to Thailand, ask them. In addition to shipping cost and insurance, you'll also get hit with customs duty and clearance charges and the shipping from port of entry to your home. I have a hard time believing you're going to save any money.

Probably more than the sofa is worth.

Given its size it would have to be packed and crated as frieght.

It would have to be shipped cargo and id bet it would cost you triple of the best sofa at Index. I just purchased one from a dealer in phuket. Its the nest grade leather and the 2 end chairs are recliners. 35000 which is comparable to any good dealer in the west.

You REALLY have to be in love with sofas to want to bring that special sofa over from the UK ! ! ! Between freight, duty and tax, your going to take a real hit.

I thought it sounded too good to be true. Cheers.
