single parent and non-O: multi or single entry?

Featured Replies

I am a single parent (my kids are Thai and wife passed away 2 years ago) and was wondering what the present chances are of getting a non-0 multi entry visa at Suwannaket? When I applied 18 months ago I only got a single entry and was told I'd have to get married again if I wanted the multi entry. Last year, I 'accidentally' forgot to include the death certificate in the other documents you have to hand over to them and got the desired multi entry marriage visa - no problem but quite a bit of sweat! However I don't really want to do that again for obvious reasons, and this time I'll just play it straight. So, does anyone have any recent experience of single parents and non-O application?

They are reluctant to do them for a single parent. In your case they should do it. But you might want to include some proof your children are living with you or even take them with you.

They have approved them for a unmarried couple if the their parenthood had been legalized and the entire family was present for the application.

You can also get an extension of stay for being the parent of a Thai at immigration. You would need to have 400k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 40k baht income.
