PatOngo
Courses in morality would be more appropriate although it would be difficult to find a reference point.

You are right of course the children in the red areas had no choice but to attend the red schools and everyone had to listen to the red propaganda spewed out over the loudspeakers every day. No freedom of thought or speech as anyone speaking out against the red doctrine would have been severely dealt to. Heck they even prevented politicians from other parties from campaigning in those areas, killing one of the campaigners to make their point.

It could be argued that attendance at the red 'democracy schools' was pretty much compulsory, with naming and shaming the penalty for non attendance. It would be interesting to compare the materials of the red democracy schools (hate messages repeated again and again including doctored tapes) with the course materials to be used in the court lessons, as yet unseen.

oneday
One thing I'm sure of, there isn't one organization or governmental department in this country that will ever REALLY understand Democracy and least of all this court.
Eric Loh
Will be immensely beneficial if the Dem Party attend the course especially for Ahbisit. Will be time for soul searching and reflection on why he boycott election twice, agreed to an appointed government and support a Junta constitution. ggt
The Constitutional Court has released a statement asking the media to stop referring to it by its acronym, which also spells the word "joke" in Thai. Free speech is the cornerstone of a democratic society... Call in a respected outside consultant to teach the "Democracy Course"... Don't make a "joke" of Thai Democracy... rickirs
Gen. Prayut should invite all the ambassadors to Thailand to attend this course so they can better understand Thai democracy. I am sure it will dispel any misconceptions they may have about the Junta's roadmap to democracy.

Popular Post 15Peter20
The ones who need it most would not attend for they already know that democracy means winning elections by any means, then doing anything you like. Utter nonsense. The elections were not won by any means. They were won by means pursuant to electoral law and the royally endorsed constitution of the time. Thai democracy is not Democracy at all. In Thailand, dissent and disagreement is seen as troublemaking. Democracy itself is based on differing views. This is why the powers in this land always site political disagreement as a reason why Democracy doesn't work for Thailand, and continually abuse the people's rights using guns. There will be nothing approximate to Democracy in Thailand in our lifetimes and the only reason why this cannot be generally understood is because to explain it is to break the law.
