PATTAYA: -- 3 Fire Engines were called to a fire at an Oil Refinery based in the Huay Yai area on Thursday afternoon.

Officers from Huay Yai Police station and Banglamung District Officials made their way to the scene of this potentially serious incident at the Oil Refinery situated in the Kao Mae Geow Village.

The Refinery is owned by Mr. Huang Feng aged 30 from Taiwan and has recently opened after it was forced to relocate from the Plu Ta Luang area due to several complaints from residents regarding the Environmental impact of the refinery on the local community.

The fire was extinguished less than 1 hour after it started and investigators determined that an overheated pipeline, which subsequently ruptured, was to blame.

"District Officials began their investigation which determined the relocated oil refinery has yet to receive its certification to refine oil"

It is going to take more than just "buying the boys a drink" to get that certificate. wai2.gif
