stamp date on my tourist visa, and getting a 30 exempt land crossing from Malaysia

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a tourist visa, the validity date on the stamp I got at immigration is Feb 13th. I would like to be sure I can leave Thailand on this date or should I need to leave on the 12th ?

And from the answer I got before, being French allows me to have a 30 days visa exempt land crossing (G7 country). From reading through this forum I have the feeling the border immigration offices don't react the same. I would like to make sure I can have that 30 days visa exempt crossing from Malysia on land (KL-Hat Yai by bus), otherwise I will fly.

Thanks in advance fro your help.

You can leave on the 13th if that is your permit to stay date. Have you done a 30 day extension of your 60 day entry?

There should be no problem getting a 30 day visa exempt entry at the border since you are not on one now.

Thanks Ubonjoe, this will be my first visa exempt on this trip, last one was march 2014.

If you got 60 days on your tourist visa entry, you can go to an immigrations office and get a 30 day extension without leaving Thailand.

You just apply for an extension of stay. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/files/file/7-tm7-extension-of-temporary-stay-in-the-kingdom-application-form/

If you already got the thirty day extension of your stay on the tourist visa entry, after you get a 30 day visa exempt entry by crossing a border, you can also get a 30 day extension of stay added onto that 30 day entry.

Thanks Suratdit, I know about the 30 days extension but I chose to travel a bit after 2 months. What I didn't know is that I can have an additional 30 days after my visa exempt. If I get it right I can get 60 days on my tourist visa + 30 days extension, visa run, 30 days visa exempt and 30 days extension of that visa exempt ? that would be in all 150 with just one visa run
