I would like to take a pilgrimage tour of the four big Buddhist sites... Preferably with a Thai group associated with a Wat or led by/including monks... Does anyone know of a tour that would fly out of Bangkok? Also is is possible to just fly out of BKK to Bodh Gaya for a short 3-4 day visit if so can you tell of your experience?

Wrong country try India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia. They are the top 4 I can think of.

I too would like to visit Bodghaya in India, and Borobodor in Indonesia. There are many sites in India I would like to see also but their visa process and application is just plain nuts. Even though they say you can now do it online, I went to the site and it just goes on and on and asks for things like places and dates that I don't have yet, since I might not travel there until two years from now. I just don't trust the setup.

having said that, in Thailand here is a site where some people visited hundreds of Wats and sites. I highly recommend it. chimburi.com
