We have got Hull at home in the League Cup. What an excellent draw for our reserves to get stuck in to. The more practice we get (reserves playing together competitively) the better we will do in both this competition and the Europa league. COYS

I really do HOPE Hull beats your reserves and bring's you guys down to Planet Earth. biggrin.png Just to see Smokie's

BT - SORRY just my Opinion whistling.gif

No way should we be playing the reserves against Hull, the youth team should do nicely biggrin.png

As they say in Scotland - "AYE RIGHT" now I really HOPE you are Hammered. You guys are really getting carried away, next you will win the Champions League, after qualifying of course....... coffee1.gif

BT biggrin.png Just my opinion of course.

yes and the rest of the country have had to endure Utd fans' smug gloating arrogance for over twennty years due to the managerial genius of Alex ferguson.

Quite how any Utd fan can accuse other fans of such trivialities as "getting carried away" is beyond comprehension, when the creation of "ABU's" was solely down to the attitude of gloating RAGS.

Just my opinion of coursebiggrin.png

btw, i hear Moysey went out onto the pitch with a clenched fist to the sttford end! About time he showed some balls and he means business. Perhaps Ferguson had a word

GOAL DIFFERENCE

I know it is really early on, but after only 5 games played we are 4 goals adrift of Citeh. Hoping we can rectify this. Seems to me in the easy games that we are clearly winning, instead of consolidating, or dare I say sitting back, we need to push on for a hat full. Easily said as the fixture list is so full, no one can blame the lads (or AVB) for taking a breather. For example we could have annihilated Norwich, true all the lads had a great game, but we settled for the 3 points, could have been many more goals that day. Just think that this year it is going to be so so close at the top that goal difference really could be a crucial deciding factor for some. COYS.

Bit controversial this but Holtby for Erikson saturday !

Interested to hear why Alfie?

Whenever he's played lately he always seems to be involved in the build up play, the one against Cardiff, 3 assists against Villa plus other games before them.

Erikson has done nothing wrong but i just think Holtby might be more suited to play against Chelsea, if not instead of Erikson then perhaps instead of Sigurdson !

He's very much in form! I think he'll be featuring second half for what its worth.

Although its early days and were still getting used to each other i think saturday will be a real indication of where were at right now. Still worried about left back if Rose is crocked but elsewhere everyones playing really well.

Have searched far and wide for supporters views of Tuesday night and found a link worthy of a peep... Ok just the first 3 pages only.. They all watched it, whereas many of us could not tune in. So good to see UK based spurs fans perspective.

I know 75% of that forum is utter BS.... But this isa game I did not see

DEFOE or SOLDADO to start?

For me it's a tough call. Lamela and Erikson service - is this what Defoe has been craving for? (Not to mention Holtby, Rose et al). Tough call for AVB. Two more good goals and one with his head see Nick's link.

Views from the Spurs Fans?

What a brilliant position to be in.

If you are talking saturday i think he'll go 4231 but the pick is very difficult due to injuries and the sttus seems to be lept very stum However i'll go

Lloris

Walker Dawson(Kaboul) Vertonghen Rose (Fryers)

Paulinho Sandro

Lamela Eriksen Chadl

Soldado

Ofcourse he might start with Townsend and he might choose Capoue if he fit but i doubt it as he'll be too rusty.

This is not the game for Townsend to be cutting in to shoot every five minutes. Chances need to be taken with clinical finishing and i think we will win. Certainly won't be happy with a draw.

I disagree... depending upon injuries, do you really think AVB will upset the apple cart... This is my team AVB will pick this weekend....

Lloris

Walker..... Dawson..... Vertongen.... Rose

Townsend..... Dembele..... Paulinho..... Sigurdsson

Eriksen

Soldado

Just my opinion..... Lamela will be eased in, Chirches will take the place of Dawson (in time), Chadli needs more time... Soldado will keep his place due to his price tag.... I am VERY impressed with both Eriksen AND Holtby... I think we are very lucky to have 2 such creative number 10's, and both only 21 years old! I am looking forward to the Chelskum game, because no matter what, Spurs will have a great season :-))))

I totally agree that Holtby has really impressed this season, more so than last season... However, I believe Eriksen will start, Holtby on the bench, either way not too shabby me's thinks

It would be a very big call not to play Paulinho with Sandro against Chelsea's midfield. Against lesser teams yes, but i doubt against this lot. It certainly will be interesting with the options available

I want Lamela in the starting line up.

Hi Smokie... I think AVB is easing Lamela into action, as he's looked a little off the pace so far, but really great impact when coming off the bench in my opinion. Most managers (Ferguson excepted) tend to keep with a winning formula, so, if it ain't broke don't fix it, therefore injuries aside, I expect the same team that started against Cardiff with Rose returning at left back, hopefully.

I feel it would be difficult to drop Siggi, Eriksen, Dembele, Paulinho or Townsend... and I feel Soldado will get the nod over Defoe, but only just. With the news Lennon, Capoue and Rose returning from injury we once again look very strong in all departments. I personally am feeling very optimistic about the season in general, and I am looking forward to tomorrow's game, as nobody has dominated us yet, even the Arse finished with 4 full backs and shut up shop......

555555 "Didn't realise he was a Mickey Mouser"? You really are a thicko sunshine...the word "Anfield" and the 707070 etc would even have convinced Alfie C where my loyalty lies. Still, nice to see the new Yiddo rottweiller is even more dense than his mates 5555 (Carmine/Smokie excepted).

As for the living in the past, it was your own quote I was responding to you silly prat(t) (Tottenham link!).

And as for years in the wilderness, if memory serves me right, Spurs have won 2 League Cups since 1991. In that time LFC have won 4 League Cups, 3 FA Cups, 2 Charity Shields, 1 UEFA Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup.....oh and a Champions League. You can only dream about a wilderness like that. Maybe you should have signed Moses to help you out.

Finally, as for my sartorial elegance, 70's/80's was all suits (no, not court appearances 5555). Now having packed in work 15 years early, I am more a shorts and (collared) shirts on the golf course where I live type. How about yourself? singlet and tattoos in your rented room I bet 5555

PS:

Sorry Alfie...you were the gift that keeps on giving, but Casino has usurped your position with ease.

Jewish north west London (now atheist) so definitely no tattoos, Nike collared shirt on the golf course 4 times a week out of Pattaya, 2 bed condo on the beach, resort on the lake, international business in Europe (20 years established), travelled to over 90 countries globally, drink only Australian and Chilean red wines.... certified English teacher as a hobby... does that paint a picture Mr Hubcap Stealer......

AVB has a history of picking a side to do the job on the day. If he thinks a players not suited for the day he won't pick them. And, like i said, i cannot see us going into a derby against Chelsea without either Sandro or Capoue if he was fit. I'll hold my hands up if i'm wrong of coursesmile.png

I think Nick's angle is that Dembele is very strong defensively which he is but offers another attacking threat so its very possible that AVB could start with him and switch more defensively later if we are winning.

Its going to be very difficult to predict a Spurs line up this season with all the options available!!
